Razr Sharp
May 24, 2006
So last Saturday I purchased the new Razr V3 from Motorola and I have to say…wow. Overall, that is. The looks of the phone can't be beat, it's slim and stylish and the metallic casing makes it cool to the touch unlike plastic which gets hot during use.
But what's really important in a phone, the operation..could use some improvement. The phone has an external display for clock and caller ID information, the screen is dark and dull and doesn't really add a whole lot of functionality to the phone. When out in daylight, I find myself still having to open the phone to see who it is that's calling me.
The phone has somewhat of a slow response time, and I see, "Please wait…loading" screens quite a bit. But the phone is packed full of goodies that help you forget about the very few drawbacks the phone actually has. I have never had a phone that allowed for as much customization as the Razr does, and I am quite impressed with the amount of ringtones, wallpapers, etc that are available for download (if you wan't to shell out $2 a pop, that is).
The phone does have a camera built into it, but I was not impressed and actually disappointed with the quality I have received from it, a very big drawback with such a sharp phone. The lens cover is made of hardened glass instead of plastic like others which makes lighting an issue and reflection from the lens a problem as well. But it is a phone, and the camera is just an extra feature, and it works for the most part, for what it needs to.
Overall I say If you have been thinking about picking up the Razr, give it a shot you will be pleased with your purchase, as was I.
